An apartment move can spend more time between the curb and the front door than on the road. Tell us about the stairs, elevator and loading entrance when you send your addresses. That gives us a better starting point for your crew and quote.

Splendid Moving handles local apartment moves in Los Angeles with a moving truck, furniture protection and disassembly and reassembly for suitable furniture. For a studio or one-bedroom move, our two-mover rate is $115 per hour with cash or $125 with a card. The minimum charge is three hours. Your full quote also needs the route, access and any applicable fees.

Start with the route through your building

Walk the route the crew will use. Note the floor number at each address and count the flights if there is no elevator. A service elevator reservation can be separate from permission to move, so ask management about both.

The truck also needs a workable place to load. A garage entrance may be too low for a moving truck. A street space may have restrictions that an empty curb does not reveal. Send photos of the entrance and loading route if they are difficult to describe. Our parking and loading guide lists the checks to make before moving day.

Send the items that change the work

A bedroom count helps us begin. An item list helps us understand the actual move. Include the sofa, beds, dresser, dining table and appliances that are moving. Mention a sleeper sofa, unusually large furniture or anything that needs to be taken apart.

Measure a large piece against the narrowest doorway and stair turn. If you are unsure it fits, send the dimensions and photos before booking. Moving day is a poor time to discover that a sofa will not clear a landing.

Tell us which furniture you want reassembled at the new address. Splendid Moving can dismount, wrap and transport a TV, but we do not remount it at the new property. Make that separate arrangement if you need it.

Decide what you want packed

Some customers pack every box themselves. Others ask for help with the kitchen or another room. We can help pack and unpack. Tell us how much help you need so we can allow time for it. Include those rooms in your quote request.

Furniture blankets and wardrobe boxes for use during the move are available. Tape and shrink wrap are included; boxes and bubble wrap can add to the cost. Confirm the materials for your move with the team. The packing service page explains what to put on your request.

Get building paperwork settled early

If either building requires a certificate of insurance, send us its written requirements and the correct contact. We can provide a COI on request. Building management still needs to review and accept it, and its elevator reservation may have a separate deadline.

Keep both approvals with your moving details. Include any limits on moving hours and the entrance the crew must use. Our COI and elevator guide helps you collect those details.

For your quote, send the two addresses, your preferred date, apartment size, item list and access notes. You can request an apartment moving quote online or call (323) 645-2636 to discuss an awkward item or building requirement.
